About CPUT Blackboard

CPUT Blackboard Portal
The Blackboard Portal at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) is an online virtual learning management system (LMS) that includes both real-time interactions, such as in Blackboard Collaborate or Microsoft Teams, and long-term interactions, such as in messages or conversations. The ability to bridge time and location is a significant advantage of online learning. You don’t have to be in the same room as your instructor to get information about the course.
To enable a smooth transition to online learning, Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) students will use the Blackboard facility as a teaching and learning platform.
You can access your course content from anywhere, at any time, with Blackboard Learn. You can also interact with your lecturers/instructors and classmates.
How to access CPUT Blackboard portal
- Visit the CPUT Website: https://www.cput.ac.za/
- Click on ”Myclassroom”
- Access the direct link via https://myclassroom.cput.ac.za/
- Enter your Username and Password
- Click on ”Login”
How to Create CPUT Blackboard Learn Profile
A welcome page greets new users and invites them to build a profile. You must agree the Blackboard Profiles Terms of Service in the pop-up box before you can create a profile. Some tools will be unavailable to you if you do not agree to the terms of service. You can create a profile later if you like.
- Login to your Blackboard Dashboard
- In the list where your name appear, select your name to access your profile.
Please note that your profile appears with some information, and you can’t delete your profile. Your institution decides what you can customize.
- Profile picture: Upload a picture to replace the generic silhouette.
- Basic Information: Update your personal information.
- Password: Change your system password.
- Global Notification Settings: Set up notifications for course activities.
How to Access Enroll Courses on the CPUT Blackboard Learn
Existing users see the My Institution tab. From this tab, you can access the courses where you’re enrolled.
- On the CPUT Blackboard page, click on ”Blackboard Learn”
- Find information about your institution.
- Make changes to your online personal information.
- See up-to-the-minute action for your courses
- Navigate to past, present, and future courses
- Access the organizations you’re a member of
- View course events and due dates for your courses
- View and send messages in your courses
- Check your grades for all courses
- Access global functions that are outside of a course such as portfolios or the Content Collection
How to Submit Assignments and Tests
You’ll complete many types of assignments as you advance through your course, such as puzzles to solve, chapter questions to answer, research papers, presentations, creative writing, and so on.
In Blackboard Learn, you can easily upload your files and receive files back, along with your grade and feedback.
- Your instructor determines when assignments are available for you to access.
- Tests are used by instructors to assess your understanding of course content and objectives. In a test, your instructor assigns point values to questions.
- Submit your test for grading and the results are recorded.
CPUT Blackboard Mobile App
Students and lecturers at CPUT can now use the mobile MyClassroom/Blackboard software for free. The Blackboard app is a mobile learning app for the on-the-go, goal-oriented learner and lecturer that is straightforward and easy to use.
The app is a one-stop-shop for announcements, information, communication, and even assignments and evaluations, and it’s designed exclusively for students and lecturers.
The app for lecturers is named ‘Instructor,’ while the app for students is called ‘Blackboard.’
The Cput chalkboard mobile app is available for Android and IOS devices in the App Store.
Type “Cape Peninsula University of Technology” as your institution when you first log in. Your user name and password are the same as when you log in to the website.
CPUT OPA
Cput opa is your personal online access. Access OPA at opa.cput.ac.za to see your Internet and printing balances. Enter your student number as Username, followed by your new Windows password, on the Login tab.
