Please note: If a program does not have a set deadline, it is recommended that you apply as soon as possible since each program has a limited number of positions.
It is the applicant’s responsibility to make sure all application materials have been received by the Graduate School. Please contact [email protected] to confirm receipt of transcripts, letters of recommendation, affidavits of support (if required), TOEFL scores, or other documents required by the program. The GRE is optional for the GPIBS program. Although not required, you may submit official GRE scores to support your application.
All admission decisions are communicated in writing by the Dean of the Graduate School. The Graduate School cannot communicate admission decisions via email or phone calls.

Current Graduate School Programs
The Graduate Program in Interdisciplinary Biomedical Sciences (GPIBS) has reorganized several former independent PhD programs into a single GPIBS program with interdisciplinary tracks and unified admissions and first semester curriculum. GPIBS will also offer a MS degree.
The priority deadline for PhD applications is December 1st. The final application deadline is February 1st. Applications will be accepted and reviewed following this date if there are slots available. The GPIBS tracks include:
- Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
- Cell Biology and Physiology
- Microbiology and Immunology
- Neuroscience
- Pathobiology
- Pharmacology, Toxicology, & Experimental Therapeutics
This reorganization does not include the Clinical and Translational Sciences track housed in the Interdisciplinary Biomedical Sciences program.
