If you have an Apple Watch and have become a Spotify member, you can get a surprising amount of control right from your wrist. And there’s good news: things have recently improved dramatically. Finally (finally!), Spotify plays, webcasts, album covers, and you can download tracks to your Apple Watch and listened to offline.
Spotify is now available on Apple Watch.
Download and log in to the Spotify app on your iPhone in order for Spotify to appear on your Apple Watch. Make sure you connect your Apple Watch to your iPhone via Bluetooth. This is besides all the other Spotify capabilities for Apple Watch, like Connect & Control, streaming, and Siri.
3 fantastic ways to listen to music and podcasts on your Apple Watch:
You can control playback at home or on the road.
All users can now control playback directly from their wrist, smoothly playing, stopping, and skipping music or podcast episodes. With Spotify Connect, you can use your Apple Watch to control playing from any device, including wireless speakers, TVs, and game consoles.
Leave your phone at home and download your playlists.
Starting today, subscribers on the premium plan will download playlists and podcasts on their Apple Watch for offline listening. Going on a trek yet still want to listen to music? Here’s how to do it:
On your watch, find the music and podcasts you wish to download.
Choose “Download to Apple Watch” from the three dots (…) menu after selecting the playlist, album, or podcast.
Go to the download section of the watch to see how things are going.
You’ll notice a little green arrow next to the names of playlists, albums, and podcasts in your library once you have downloaded them.
No matter where you are, connect your headphones and start listening.
Tell Siri whatever you want to hear
All users may just say “Hey, Siri” followed by their command to play their favorite songs, playlists, and podcasts with Siri’s support for Apple Watch. You can also “like” songs, inquire about what’s currently playing, and adjust media settings such as volume, play, and pause. Say “on Spotify” at the end of each command so Siri knows which service to use.
