Headphones and earbuds are indispensable tools and if left uncleaned for an extended period, they can devolve into revolting stenches. However, here are quick and easy steps to clean your headphones and wireless earbuds.
Steps to Clean the Headphones
Most headphones are plastic-made. Nonetheless, check the manufacturer’s instruction label to see if it’s okay to clean its fabric covers with soap and water.

- Remove both ends of the earpads.
- clean the outside of the headphones by using a soft cloth dipped in soapy warm water.
- Then use paper towels or another cloth to dry the exterior after the cleaning.
For the Headphones’ Pads;
You can repeat the following process to properly sanitize the pads;
- Dampen a cloth with a negligible quantity of alcohol.
- To clean, use the damped cloth to wipe the pads’ exteriors.
- Perhaps you want to clean further, use a Q-Tip dipped in alcohol to remove any little cracks or fissures.
- Then to clean the mesh component of the pads, swab them with the rubbing alcohol and wipe them clean afterward.
- Next, rub the mesh together.

Hydrogen peroxide, soft toothbrushes are the things needed to clean them.
- Unscrew the rubber earbuds’ gel or foam plug.
- For at least 30 minutes, put them in hot soapy water and leave them to soak.
- Clean out the ear tips of any dirt or wax that has accumulated.
- Finally, allow the ear tips to dry after rinsing them in warm, soapy water.

Clean any remaining wax or debris with hydrogen peroxide or water by;
- Using the hydrogen peroxide to disinfect one toothbrush.
- To remove excess peroxide, shake the toothbrush.
- Next, hold the earphone with the speaker touching the floor.
- While cleaning the speaker, make sure you only brush in a single direction.
