The new decade, the unusually warm weather, and, well, coronavirus. But one thing is certain: a good candle can both relax the mind and delight the nostrils. Spring is a time to restore and revitalize, and there’s no better way to do so than with a whiff of wildflowers and lilacs, lemons and crisp linens.
Let’s get started:
Saint Germain Lavender Candle
A seaside wind, green plants, blooming petals, and white linen? Votivo’s mixture is like a spring in a jar. And, with a burn time of 60 hours and an eco-friendly soy wax blend (with a cotton wick! ), this is my favorite warm-weather candle of the year.
Bath & Body Works
Fresh Cut Lilacs, a Bath & Body Works classic, is returning for spring 2023. How could it not when one reviewer states it “smells just like lilacs, like I’m stepping into a flower shop”? Almost 20 other reviewers have given it five stars.
WoodWick Trilogy Golden Treats
Another unique feature of WoodWick is that they want to give you three fragrances in one. If you like the notion of Golden Milk, consider trying this “trilogy” candle, which includes that aroma and White Honey and Oat Flower.
Sugar Lemon Scented Candle
Sugar Lemon is a popular Fresh candle that is sweeter and less citrusy than the soap and rollerball in the same collection (a blend catered toward home vs. skin). Are there any extra points? Check: The 7.5-oz. candles, according to online reviewers, last longer than other luxury brands they’ve tested. Still not willing to part with $60? Sugared Lemon Zest, a comparable mix from Bath & Body Works, costs $24.50.
Wildflowers Candle
This natural blend of sweet grass and delicate florals, made with soy wax and a cotton wick, smells like a sunny day in the backyard. It burns for an astonishing 40 hours, and several reviews say they could rescue their handcrafted vase.
