COVID-19 Related Fee Changes
As Evergreen has shifted to remote and hybrid instruction, we have invested in tools, training, and technology to support student and faculty. Evergreen faculty members have been preparing and adjusting modes of instruction so we can ensure credits earned in a hybrid or remote environment have the same value. At the same time, Evergreen staff have made existing and new services available online so that we can serve students remotely, sustain critical functions, and support the Evergreen community. Many of those services are supported by fees.
We have reviewed and evaluated where we can suspend fee collections and determined the following changes.
Fees not being charged
- Clean Energy – suspended until Fall 2023
- Late Night Shuttle – suspended until further notice
- Transit – suspended until further notice
- Parking – suspended until further notice
Fees being charged for 2023-21
The CAB Renovation fee was voted into place by students several years ago to finance renovation of the building. We’re obligated to charge the fee until the debt is paid-off.
Services provided by these funds will be delivered through alternate methods during the COVID-19 pandemic and Evergreen’s adjusted operations:
- Health and Wellness – all services remain available via tele-medicine and other means.
- WashPirg – WashPirg has had to alter its operations due to the pandemic, but it remains active advocating the issues it always has.
- GSU – GSU remains active in its role of supporting students and participating in shared governance with the faculty, administration, and Board of Trustees.
Your Obligation
By registering for classes, you incur a legal obligation to pay tuition and fees and will be billed accordingly. This debt may be canceled only if you officially withdraw from the College before the quarterly deadline. Please make note of our tuition deadlines. You will NOT be dropped for non-payment. If you decide not to attend, it is your responsibility to drop classes on time to avoid tuition liabilities.
