TUITION FEES - INTERNATIONAL Refer to the table below for the annual tuition fee for international applicants, applicable for both September and January intakes. Please note that from the 1st August 2021, all EU nationals (except Ireland) who start a new course of study will be classed as ‘international’ students and will be charged international tuition fee levels. In addition, all students are expected to meet general living costs such as accommodation, food, books, clothing etc. Although it is nearly impossible to provide an exact figure as all students are different and have different lifestyles, but an estimate about the Living Costs at Bangor can be found here. Tuition fee payment information How to Pay Aston offers a number of easy payment options though our online payment platforms. You can make payments via Credit or Debit Card and through the bank transfer platform, where a range of international payment methods are available. Deposit Payments All students will be required to pay a deposit to secure a place on their chosen course. This information is provided in your offer letter, along with the details of your payment, including the amount to be paid and the date it will need to be paid by. This deposit amount will then be deducted from your first year’s tuition fees. UK undergraduates and postgraduates who have taken out a student loan do not have to pay a deposit. If you have any questions about the payment of the deposit, please contact the Undergraduate Admissions Team or the Postgraduate Admissions Team. EU students For the academic years 2021/22 and beyond, we do not yet know what will or won’t change regarding tuition fees for EU students as this will be dependent on the UK government’s negotiations with the EU. Please refer to our Brexit page for more information. Payment dates 21/22 Card payments Bank transfers myAston app Payment dates 20/21 Your tuition fee is due at the start of the program; this is paid in full or in three instalments. The full payment plan for the 2021/22 academic year, assuming a September enrolement, will be: Undergraduates and International Postgraduates 50% of tuition fee by 31 October 2021 25% of tuition fee by 10 January 2022 25% of tuition fee by 25 April 2022 UK and EU Postgraduates 33% of tuition fee by 31 October 2021 33% of tuition fee by 10 January 2022 34% of tuition fee by 25 April 2022 If you enrol in January 2022, your payment dates will be: Undergraduates and International Postgraduates 50% of tuition fee by 10 January 2022 25% of tuition fee by 25 April 2022 25% of tuition fee by 31 October 2022 UK and EU Postgraduates 33% of tuition fee by 10 January 2022 33% of tuition fee by 25 April 2022 34% of tuition fee by 31 October 2022 If you enrol in April 2022, your payment dates will be: Undergraduates and International Postgraduates 50% of tuition fee by 25 April 2022 25% of tuition fee by 31 October 2022 25% of tuition fee by 9 January 2023 UK and EU Postgraduates 33% of tuition fee by 25 April 2022 33% of tuition fee by 31 October 2022 34% of tuition fee by 9 January 2023 Sanctions What happens if I fail to pay my tuition fees? The complete University Policy on Sanctions for Student Debt can be accessed here Sanctions Policy. If you fail to pay your tuition fees instalments in full by the due date or fail to set up and maintain a suitable payment plan, university sanctions will be applied to your student account. Sanctions will restrict you access to Library and IT facilities. This will prevent you from accessing your Aston Email, MAP and Blackboard, and block access course material or submitting work. Sanctions will also prevent you from graduating dependant on the level of debt owed. Any applied sanction would remain in place until such time that a suitable arrangement to pay fees is in place and/or the outstanding account balance is settled. If you are having difficulty paying If you believe your payment is likely to be late or are having difficulty paying, you must contact the Credit Control Team immediately. They will be able to discuss your situation and where possible agree a payment plan with you, within University regulation. If you are facing financial difficulties and require help and advice you can contact The Student Advice Team at The Hub. There are advisers who will assist you, in addition a Funds Administrator is available to help with an application for financial assistance if you are in hardship.
