Admission Requirements

Prospective candidates are to present the following documents:

1. Professional Certificate: Registered Nurse (RN) Certificate

2. Academic Certificates: Including FSLC, WASSCE, SSCE, GCE, NECO, and NABTEB with at least five credits in English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. Note: Only a maximum of two sittings are accepted, except for NABTEB which cannot be mixed with other results.

3. Professional Testimonial: From the last professional school attended.

4. Proof of Identity: Birth Certificate or Age Declaration

5. Practicing License: Current and valid.

6. Change of Name Certificate: If applicable.

7. State of Origin Certificate.

8. Passport Photographs: Two recent ones.

What is the Difference Between Post-Basic Midwifery and Basic Midwifery?

The BASIC Midwifery programme is 3 years while the POST-BASIC Midwifery programme is 18 months. Also, the BASIC Midwifery programme is for Secondary Schools leavers with at least 5 credits.

These 5 credits include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics while the POST-BASIC Midwifery programme is for Registered Nurses.

How Many Years Is Midwifery and Nursing?

The Basic Midwifery educational program like general nursing is a six-semester program of study.

Being a three (3) year course, each year has two (2) semesters and there is an examination at the end of every semester. The final qualifying examination comes after the 3rd semester, 3rd year.
