– WCED Admissions –
Good news to International students that have been yearning for WCED Admissions. The Western Cape Education Department’s (WCED) online and paper application forms for admission to the class of 2024 are described in this article.
What to Know about WCED Admission
The WCED started this process earlier than other Provinces, but there is a good reason for it.
We require the combined collaboration of parents, schools, and WCED officials to ensure that as many learners as possible are accepted and that the relevant support plans are put in place to handle expansion in particular regions.
However, parents who have not yet submitted an application for 2024 are also being urged to do so as soon as possible by the WCED.
Schools are asked to make sure that administrative staff give parents/guardians the contact information for the district admissions officials rather than just turning parents/guardians away.
Nevertheless, it is advised for schools to help learners find placements if they are able to do so.
WCED Admission Guidelines And Forms
All participants in the admissions process must cooperate in order to reach the same objective, which is to guarantee that all students are enrolled in a school in good time for the 2024 academic year.
To complete their admission lists as soon as feasible for this phase, schools must cooperate. It will also influence how we supply infrastructure and resources in the coming months.
Students must pre-enroll in yearly programs at the end of the current academic year for the following one.
The non-refundable registration cost must be paid, and enrollment paperwork must be accompanied by verification of that payment.
For enrollment reasons, a certified copy of your ID and the most recent report card or certificate from school is required. The number of students is a factor in all courses.
Online Application Procedure for WCED Admissions
Kindly follow through with each one of the steps to make an application.
Step 1
An application for the admission of a learner to a public school is made to the principal of the school where admission is sought.
Step 2
The parent or learner makes an application for admission to the school by presenting the required compulsory documents, including the most recent original school report, and a fully completed application form.
Step 3
The school shall make the copied CEMIS Learner Registration Form available to any parent or learner seeking admission, and shall assist the person to complete the application if this assistance is needed.
Step 4
Neither school fees nor any other fees are payable on the application for WCED admissions.
Required Documentation for WCED Admissions
Parents must upload copies of supporting documents required onto the system as part of this online application.
Certified copies of supporting documents must only be submitted to the school once the learner has been accepted.
These certified hard copies must be submitted to the school where the learner will be attending within seven days of the parent confirming the place at the school.
Your application is INCOMPLETE until ALL the relevant supporting documents have been submitted to the school.
Admission Receipt
All applicants who apply to a school and complete an application for admission must be provided with receipts, numbered in sequence, for admission by the school.
These could be copies of the CEMIS forms or the school’s own receipts issued to applying parents or learners.
When a learner applies to a school for admission, the principal, on the closing date for admission, will either admit or not admit the learner to the school in accordance with the school’s admission policy, subjects offered and the class space available.
