The University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) has created the UKZN Student Central portal as a student administration structure that allows students to carry out online course registration, examine test scores and results, and review fee statements.

To have the right entry, you must first request access to the University of KwaZulu- (UKZN) Natal’s student portal by logging in to https://sc.ukzn.ac.za/ with your student number and, if this is your first login, the default PIN.

  •         Go to the UKZN Student Online Registration Portal
  •         Click on the UKZN Web Registration
  •         After that Click on the Rules and Regulations

Please, it is expedient that you must READ and ACCEPT the file (policy). You will not be allowed to carry on with registration if this has not been established.

Please take note that it is required you view your address and contact information when you first log in to the system. You will see a caution if you try to enter registration just like that.

If access is denied, all the educational registration policies must be acknowledged; return and do so before continuing.

  • Click on the New Registration link. If you have qualifications available to you, you will need to select the most suitable one. And ensure that the requirement displayed is proper.
  • After that Select your main (s) if compulsory and your employment position
  • Click on ‘Save and Continue”
  • Choose your modules, observing the policy in mind per group of modules, and the entire credits for the year. The system will produce errors if you break any law.
  • Select the timetables blocks per unit chosen, then ensure you do not pick the same blocks for modules within the same semester. After, you are fulfilled with your selection.
  • Click on the ‘Save and Continue, or the ‘Previous’ to go back to one screen, or ‘Restart Process’ to go back to the requirement screen
  • You will need to request approval if you have any credit mistakes or are an Orange, Red, or Purple student. Green students should move on to step 19 if there were no registration issues.
  • Click or tap “Request Approval.” You might record some remarks that the professor needs to give their permission for.
  • You can log out and wait for an email with the status of your request when you click Submit and receive a notice saying that the message has been forwarded.
  • Please log in again if your request was denied.
  • To alter your module selection, click the “New Registration Link” and follow the advice.
  • Here (with New Processing Link) you will be taken to a screen where you can upload your documents once your request has been granted or a Green candidate has successfully chosen their subjects without making any mistakes.
  • The screen will display a list of papers. If necessary, browse and upload a PDF file.
  • Immediately after submitting, you can log out and wait for the College to contact you by email. If the documents you submitted fit the standards or if you need to resend them, you will be informed as well.
  • A screen displaying the registration’s costs will subsequently be shown to you.
  • To complete your registration, click “Accept Registration.” To release any holds that are still in place (such as FCR, which stands for “Financial Clearance Required”), get in touch with finance.
  • Your choice will now be saved in the database, and you’ll be enrolled automatically. You will now receive a notification stating that you have registered if there are no holds.
  • Print your registration confirmation breakdown and log out.
