PEO International Peace Scholarships for Women Eligibility

  • An applicant must be qualified for admission to full-time graduate study and working toward a graduate degree in an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada.
  • A student who is a non-citizen or non-permanent resident of the United States or Canada is not eligible.
  • Scholarships are not given for research, internships, or practical training unless it is combined with coursework. Awards are not to be used to pay past debts.
  • In order to qualify for her first scholarship, an applicant must have a full year of coursework remaining, be enrolled and in residence for the entire school year.
  • Doctoral students who have completed coursework and are working only on dissertations are not eligible as first-time applicants.

Caitlin Doyle

She has a Ph.D. in English Literature and Creative Writing, University of Cincinnati. Caitlin Doyle’s love of poetry was inspired by her experience as a first-generation Irish American in songs, poetry, and stories from Ireland.

Caitlin acquired a B.A. in English literature and creative writing with honors and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as Thomas Wolfe Scholar.

She then completed an M.F.A. in creative writing at Boston University as a George Starbuck Fellow in Poetry. Her professional goals include publishing poetry collections, book reviews, and essays while teaching creative writing and literature at the university.

Mary Jane Drake

She has a D.V.M. in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania. Mary Jane Drake graduated from the University of Richmond with a B.S. with summa cum laude and phi beta kappa. in biochemistry and molecular biology.

Then she completed her doctorate. in microbiology at the University of Pennsylvania. She is currently the first in her veterinary class at Penn where she focuses on livestock populations.
