When the Special Relief of Distress grant was extended, appeals for the grants were extended as well. Appeals are there for rejected applicants to have their application reconsidered. Here’s when appeals will close.

Appeals are there if your application was denied the first time around and you want to be considered again, basically a second chance. Appeals for SASSA R350 grant are open.

Appeals for this Special Relief of Distress grant will come to an end on 30 April. These are open for those individuals who applied and got rejected during the period from November until January.

Appeals for applications done between May 2024 and October 2024 are closed.

How To Send Your Appeal

  1. Go to the SRD Grant website
  2. Scroll down to ‘Application for reconsideration’
  3. Click on the yellow bar
  4. Fill in the required fields

If you’ve already submitted an appeal, you don’t need to submit another or contact the SASSA office.

The applicants are requested to provide reasons why they think the SASSA decision was incorrect or provide motivation when lodging their complaints.

All appeals will be considered and appellants will be provided with feedback. All appeals will be treated fairly and transparently to ensure a high standard of administrative justice is maintained in the administration of grants.

The outcome of your appeal will be relayed through SMS.

  3. Click on the yellow bar
  4. Fill in the required fields
  5. You will now be able to view your information

Payments will be made from the month you initially applied. There is no set payment date for this grant.

The President declared a National State of Disaster as a result of the Covid-19 global pandemic. In this regard he introduced a special Covid 19 Social Relief of Distress Grant (SRD) of R350 per month to be paid to individuals who are currently unemployed, do not receive any form of income, social grant or UIF payment etc.
