Funza Lushaka Bursary Has An Age Limit

0

The Funza Lushaka bursary, along with other requirements, contains an age limit for potential bursars. This bursary is geared towards students and prospective students wanted to pursue a teaching career.

The government-subsidised Funza Lushaka bursary is a funding programme catered towards students wanting to enter the Education field as teachers. The bursary which funds students year after year, has also got an age limit attached to its list of requirements for students to qualify for the programme.

The age limit goes for all first time applicants, allowing only students the age of 30 or younger the opportunity to apply.

Among these requirements include the ineligibility of people with criminal records, people charged with misconduct and people dismissed from work, to apply for the bursary.

The bursary funds students with qualifications that allow a specialisation in teaching “in at least two priority subject areas”, as stated on the Funza Lushaka website.

The bursary serves to cover much of the bursar’s expenses including the student’s “meals, books and learning materials, teaching practice” and potentially a small allowance for other monthly living expenses.

Recipients of the fund will be able to repay their bursary by teaching at a public school for the same amount of years that they were funded, with the payment of each year of funding being offset for each year spent teaching at a public school.
