The Evander Gold Mines Internship Program application has kicked off in earnest for young South African persons. Therefore, The Evander Gold Mines invites students to apply for Bursary Programme 2024.
If you are a fresh, young South African graduate looking out for an opportunity to meet and work alongside great minds in your field, then why not jump on this and start your journey to a dream-come-through. Evander Gold Mines Internship Program is designed to help graduates on the Bachelor’s level that wants to do or experience internship just before starting out in life on their own.
Details of Evander Gold Mines Internship 2023
Bursary Application Closing Date: 30 April 2024
Evander Gold Mines is inviting students to apply for their annual bursary programme, for the 2024 academic year. Evander Gold Mines will select 10 students to receive each of the following bursaries:
- Accounting (CA Stream – SAICA) Bursary: for studies towards BCom Accounting or BAcc (CA stream)
- Food Science Bursary: for studies towards a Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts or related qualification in Hospitality Management/ BSc Food Science
- Information Technology/ Systems Bursary: for studies towards a BSc or BCom majoring in Information Technology or Systems Analysis
- Data Science Bursary: for studies towards a Degree or Postgraduate qualification in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research, Industrial Engineering & Quantitative Management (or similar quantitative degree)
The bursary will provide cover for the following expenses: tuition fees, books and an allowance for accommodation. The value of the bursary will range between R30 000 and R60 000, dependent on the field of study and the institution.
After graduation, bursary recipients will be required to work for Evander Gold Mines. The work back obligation is 1 year of employment for each year of funding received.
- Accounting (CA Stream – SAICA) Bursary: Chartered Accounting students will be able to join the Evander Gold Mines Finance team after graduation. Bursars will also have the opportunity to join the Accounting Articles Programme, whereby they will gain exposure to the entire Group of Companies and work with a wide range of stakeholder.
- Food Science Bursary: Culinary/ Hospitality students will be able to join the Evander Gold Mines Fresh Foods team after graduation.
- Information Technology/ Systems Bursary: Information technology/ Systems students will be able to join the Evander Gold Mines Group. Bursars will also have the opportunity to join the companies SAP Academy, which produces top-level specialists in the System Analysis field.
- Data Science Bursary: Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research, Industrial Engineering & Quantitative Management students will be able to join the Evander Gold Mines Data Science Academy, which produces top-level specialists in the data science field.
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 30 days of the application deadline – should you not receive feedback by this time, please regard your application as unsuccessful.
Internal candidates will receive first consideration before external applications are reviewed (per Evander Gold Mines’s Employment Equity goals).
Requirements
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
Accounting (CA Stream – SAICA) Bursary:
- You must be a South African citizen
- You must be 27 years old or younger
- You must have completed Matric
- You must be studying towards a BCom Accounting or BAcc (CA stream) degree
- You must be in your 2nd, 3rd, 4th or Honours year of study in 2024
- You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 65%
- You must have achieved a minimum result of 65% for Accounting, Auditing and Taxation
- You must be studying at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution within South Africa
Food Science Bursary:
- You must be a South African citizen
- You must be 27 years old or younger
- You must have completed Matric
- You must be studying towards a Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts or related qualification in Hospitality Management or BSc Food Science
- You must be in your 2nd or 3rd year of study in 2024
- You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 60%
- You must be studying at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution within South Africa
Information Technology/ Systems Bursary:
- You must be a South African citizen
- You must be 27 years old or younger
- You must have completed Matric
- You must be studying towards a BSc or BCom majoring in Information Technology or Systems Analysis
- You must be in your 4th or Honours year of study in 2024
- You must be studying at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution within South Africa
Data Science Bursary:
- You must be a South African citizen
- You must be 27 years old or younger
- You must have completed Matric
- You must be studying towards a Degree or Postgraduate qualification in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research, Industrial Engineering & Quantitative Management (or similar quantitative degree)
- You must be in your 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of study in 2024
- You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 60%
- You must have achieved a minimum result of 65% for Mathematics (from 2nd year of study)
- You must be studying at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution within South Africa
