Following completion of the higher secondary exam, the student may continue with degree-related coursework. Students get their degrees during the convocation event, which is hosted by the institution or college. There are four main categories of degrees, including:

Major Differences Between Degrees and Diplomas

‣ The degree is a certification that the student has successfully completed his studies up to that point in the stream he has selected, as determined by the university. The educational institution awards the student a diploma, which is a certificate, for successfully studying and completing a certain course.

‣ They used an annual admissions process for degree programs. Contrarily, depending on the rules of the university or institution, admissions to a diploma program are done annually or biannually.

Degree programs cost more than certificate programs.

‣ They spent more time on degree programs than on diploma programs.

Some degree courses are flexible i.e. students may change the stream within a few months of admission. In a diploma, there is no such option.

‣ The least qualification for taking admission to a degree program is 10+2, but with a diploma, it is 10th.

Normally, degree holders are paid higher than diploma holders.

The degrees are bachelor, master, associate, and doctorate. The type of diploma is graduate or postgraduate.
