ASEAN-Maybank Scholarship Programme
Obviously, the ASEAN-Maybank Scholarship Programme is a partnership between ASEAN Secretariat and Maybank Foundation. It is one of ASEAN’s level initiatives undertaken by Maybank.
Furthermore, this scholarship is aimed to provide young talented, and deserving ASEAN nationals with full scholarships. This, however, will help them pursue their undergraduate program at a prestigious university far away from their homes. But still within the ASEAN region. Most importantly, this movement will help to promote intra-ASEAN integration.
So, the first set of scholars for the ASEAN-Maybank Scholarship Programme will be in this year 2024 the focus of the foundation is to place these scholars in top public universities in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines. After a while, it will gradually expand to other ASEAN countries.
In light of this, the program will go ahead to improve the lives of at least 1 million households across ASEAN BY 2025.
Application requirements
Now, for you to be eligible for this ASEAN-Maybank Scholarship Program, you must meet these requirements:
- Firstly, be a citizen of one of the 10 ASEAN member states
- Possess excellent academic qualifications and active in extracurricular activities
- Graduate with a pre-university result of a minimum CGPA of 3.00 or equivalent
- Also, choose a field of study from the listed approved fields of study
- Then, receive an admission letter or letter of offer from a university within the ASEAN university Network membership
Selection process
In accordance with the rules, the selected candidates will undergo a rigorous selection process. More so, ASEAN Foundation and Maybank Foundation will jointly screen the shortlisted candidates and select the final candidates for approval.

Also, they will participate as volunteers in Maybank Foundation’s existing flagship programs, regionally.
Placements
In line with that, when the candidates graduate, they will serve a 3-year bond at either Maybank, the ASEAN Secretariat, or ASEAN Foundation.
