Introduction
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Teaching and Learning:
· To deliver quality lectures and support to students.
· Set assessments and make sure that students receive feedback on time.
· Help students with queries and problems.
· Develop study material
2. Academic Administration:
· Keep class discipline and adhere to all the requirements for the administration of allocated modules as required by the NWU rules and policy.
3. Research and Publications:
· Be active in research through self-development, attend workshops in research in pursuit of furthering one’s academic qualifications and publishing articles etc.
4. Community Engagement:
· Participate in community engagements through community projects and collaboration with stakeholders where necessary
Desired Experience & Qualification
· Should be willing to enrol for a PhD (NQF level 10) in African Languages.
EXPERIENCE:
· A minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience at tertiary level.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/ TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
· Lecturing experience at a tertiary institution.
· Excellent language and communication skills.
· Competence in Sesotho.
· Experience working as a Sesotho lecturer or teacher.
· Ability to use basic computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:
· Experience in supporting students, for example, SI facilitation, tutoring and peer mentoring
· Excellent communication skills
· Ability to work under pressure
· Ability to work within a team.
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
