Vacancy Announcement - Research Coordinator

 

The Centre for Biodiversity Conservation Research (CBCR) is pleased to announce a vacancy for the position of Research Coordinator for a project, title: Examining the socio-economic and health vulnerabilities of female ‘bushmeat’ traders in Ghana during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. This Project is implemented under a partnership with the York University and seeks to examine the interrelated factors that determine women’s livelihood challenges and opportunities in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, drawing on the lived experience of women bushmeat traders in Ghana.

The primary responsibility of the position will be to organize field data collection by different research teams, participate in the field research, data analysis and reporting, among others. The position will be particularly suitable for a post-doctoral candidate able to serve the full two-year term of the project, but experienced researchers who may be looking for new challenges and an opportunity to work in a team of enthusiastic researchers may also apply.

Credentials

We invite applications from candidates with the following credentials:

 

· A PhD in a relevant discipline,

 

· Demonstrated project management experience,

 

· Demonstrated success in project proposal development,

 

· Ability to do independent field research,

 

· Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and data analysis will be an advantage,

 

· Must be willing to travel to various parts of Ghana,

 

· Excellent communication skills (oral and written English),

 

· A good team player.

Remuneration: Level of Lecturer/Research Fellow (in Ghanaian universities).
