The U.S. Department of Education awards the Federal Pell Grant, which is based on the Expected Family Contribution (EFC). Information supplied on the FAFSA is used to calculate the EFC.

Both full-time and part-time undergraduate students who haven’t graduated with a bachelor’s or professional degree are eligible for Pell Grants. A qualified student may occasionally get up to 150% of the Pell Grant that is planned for an award.

Undergraduate students with the lowest EFC are eligible for the FSEOG grant, which gives Federal Pell Grant recipients preference.

Students who meet the FAFSA priority application deadline of March 1st will be given preference for the prize, which varies from $200 to $1,000 annually.

Undergraduate students who can prove they have a financial need can apply for UMBC Grants, an institutional reward. The award may also be advertised under the heading Donor Supported Scholarship, which students may view.

Priority is provided to students who submit their FAFSA priority applications by the deadline of March 1st, and the incentives vary from $500 to $3,000 annually.

Loans based on need or not based on need may be part of your financial aid package. Depending on the student’s grade level and total lifetime borrowing, federal loans will be provided up to the maximum amount for which they are qualified.
