Grants are awarded depending on financial need. 3 different types of grants, including federal, state, and university (UC) grants, may be available to you.

To be eligible for the best grant awards, submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 2 of each year, or a California Dream Act Application if you are qualified for AB540 but are unable to complete a FAFSA.

For the Pell Grant and Cal Grant renewal, you may still apply after March 2.

UC San Diego Tuition Loan
