Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST) uses a comprehensive review as part of its admissions procedure.

Participants’ eighth-grade pupils will apply for entrance to the ninth grade.

Students whose applications show heightened merit will undergo a comprehensive review; They will then give the top 550 candidates seats.

6. All seventh-grade applicants to the TJHSST must have an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher in order to be taken into consideration.

7. It is improbable that a student with a GPA below 3.5 at the end of the seventh grade will elevate it to a qualifying GPA by the beginning of the eighth grade.

  1. Before the parent can log in, the student must access the Log-In Screen and complete the initial login process, which includes entering the parent’s name and email address.
  2. The “link” needed to log in and create the parent account is sent to the parent in an automatically created email. I urge parents to log in right away because this link expires.
  3. The applicant’s school’s TJHSST Liaison Counselor confirms math course. (This verification will take at least 24 hours to complete.) After verification, we send an automated email telling the applicant and parent they can finish the application.
  1. Parent and applicant both need to sign electronically.
  2. Send your application in.
  3. The applicant and parent will receive an automatically produced email informing them they have submitted the application.

Admissions for the TJHSST will start the second week of October and end the second week of November.

Is it Hard to Get Into TJHSST?

At the end of the seventh grade, all applicants to TJHSST must have an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or better in order to be considered.
