Basic Tuition and Fees are determined by a student’s academic plan and status (full or part time). Below is a list of the Basic Tuition & Fees for each term.

Non-Resident tuition and fees, also known as non-resident tuition and fees, will be charged to out-of-state and international students at a cost of $396 each unit of coursework.

In addition to the basic tuition and fees, there are also non-resident tuition and fees. Before the start of classes, all non-resident tuition must be paid in full.

The expected cost to attend SDSU for the whole nine-month academic year is known as the Cost of Attendance (COA).

Even though your particular expenses may differ, the COA represents a modest, sufficient living stipend.

Your unique set of circumstances, discretionary spending habits, or spending patterns can differ from those of the typical COA. The standard COA will serve as the basis for your financial aid award.

San Diego State Tuition Grant

If you meet all the requirements, a grant is free money that you don’t have to pay back. Most grants are given out in accordance with financial need. Some grants also call for a minimum grade point average.

The duration for which you can receive a grant may be restricted under some programs.

You must be a U.S. citizen or a qualified non-citizen to be eligible for a federal grant.

There are several federal grants available, including the Pell Grant, the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), the Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs Grant.

Several state-funded grant programs, including Cal Grants A and B, State University Grant (SUG), Educational Opportunity Program Grant (EOPG), Middle Class Scholarship (MCS) Program, and Chafee Grant, may be able to help eligible California residents.

San Diego State Tuition Loan

A loan is a sum of money that you commit to borrow and then repay at a later time, nearly always with interest.

Student and parent Federal Direct Loans: If you are a dependent student, SDSU participates in the Federal Direct Student Loan (Direct Loan) Program, which offers you and your parents long-term, low-interest loans borrowed directly from the U.S. Department of Education.

You may be eligible for loans as part of your financial aid package, giving you the chance to borrow money to pay for your educational costs.

Your SDSU award could consist of Subsidized loan which has no interest or payments while you are enrolled at least half-time under the subsidy (undergraduate students only) while unsubsidized loan Interest that is not subsidized is charged while you are enrolled.

Grad PLUS—After receiving all other loans, for graduate students. Parent PLUS is a loan that your parents can take out to assist with your educational costs.

San Diego State Tuition Work Study

To assist you in covering your educational expenses, the Federal Work Study (FWS) Program offers part-time employment.

San Diego State Tuition Scholarship

San Diego State offers more than 700 scholarship opportunities to help our students achieve their academic objectives. Generous contributors to SDSU who believe in higher education and your capacity for academic success have funded our scholarships.

Students can submit a single application using our application site, “Aztec Scholarships,” to be considered for university scholarships.

The application and awarding procedures for SDSU scholarships are coordinated by the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships in collaboration with core committees from the different colleges, departments, and organizations that choose beneficiaries.

Student applications are processed quickly and simply. Aztec Scholarships automatically selects eligible applications and forwards them to the SDSU scholarship committees for award consideration based on university and applicant data.

University faculty and/or personnel from the academic program or campus group most directly associated with the scholarship make up the majority of scholarship committees.

Staff personnel from the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships are not included on any scholarship committees.
