There are two major methods for creating a Marvel movie timeline. We list the first in chronological sequence, beginning with IRON MAN in 2008. The second is a chronological Marvel movie order that sticks to the sequence of events.

Captain America
THE FIRST AVENGER serves as an extended introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Most of the film takes place in the 1940s, and it introduces viewers to the SSR, which later becomes S.H.I.E.L.D. This change in viewing sequence is appropriate. While THE INCREDIBLE HULK takes place concurrently with IRON MAN 2, the end-credits scene assumes Tony Stark is now a “consultant” with S.H.I.E.L.D.

Although the Eternals arrived 7000 years ago, the film takes place in the present day, following the events of AVENGERS ENDGAME. In Eternals, we will learn more about the Celestials, who were previously discussed in Guardians of the Galaxy. Thena, and the rest of the Eternals in their fight against the Deviants to save humanity.
