1. Go to YouTube on your phone. To begin, open your browser and go to YouTube.
2. Navigate to the video you wish to save. Using the “Search” bar at the top of the screen, you may look for the video.
3. Take note of the video’s URL. To do so, highlight the URL in the address bar at the top of the browser and hit Ctrl+C (PC) or Command+C (Mac) on your keyboard (Mac).
4. Start VLC Media Player.
5. Create a new network stream on your computer. VLC supports network streams, which allow you to play material from your web browser.
6. Paste the URL of the YouTube video into the area. Then hit Ctrl+V (PC) or Command+V (Mac) in the text box.
7. Select Play (PC) or Open (Mac) (Mac). This will launch VLC and play the YouTube video.
8. Look up the codec information for the video.
9. Screenshot the “Location” box on your screen. You’ll notice a lengthy address at the bottom of the window that you’ll need to copy.
