If you can show financial need, the U.S. Department of Education distributes a number of programs for which you can qualify.

Undergraduate students pursuing their first undergraduate degree are eligible for federal Pell Awards. Candidates for teaching credentials who maintain half-time enrollment status (at least six units) at the undergraduate fifth-year level may also qualify.

Many variables, including an applicant’s anticipated family contribution, enrollment time, and enrollment units, have an impact on annual Pell Grant payouts. A student cannot be awarded a Pell Grant for two institutions at once.

Students pursuing their first undergraduate degree who demonstrate extraordinary financial need (Expected Family Contribution of Zero $0) and enroll in at least six units are eligible for the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG).

Priority is given to initial applicants until all available monies have been awarded. You must complete your FAFSA as soon as it becomes available in early October in order to be evaluated for assistance due to the restricted amount of funding available.
