University of Energy and Natural Resources

The University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) was established on December 31, 2011. It is to be a center of excellence in energy and natural resources management through interdisciplinary collaboration.

A National Task Force Planning Committee oversaw UENR’s establishment. That is before it was inaugurated on February 8, 2011. And this was done by Prof. J.E.A. Mills.

On June 7, 2012, the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology transferred its Faculty of Forest Resources Technology site to UENR’s control. UENR is a publicly sponsored school focusing on energy and natural resources management.

Is the University of Energy and Natural Resources Accredited?

The National Accreditation Board (NAB) of Ghana, which is in charge of assuring the caliber and standards of higher education institutions in the nation, has granted the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) accreditation.

UENR has also received accreditation from other reputable bodies. Such as the Engineering Council of Ghana, the Ghana Institution of Engineers, and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, among others.

These accreditations attest to the quality of instruction and training offered at UENR. It also gives parents, employers, and prospective students the peace of mind that UENR graduates have the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in their chosen fields.

The University has multiple campuses. And there are currently three of them Sunyani, Nsoatre, and Dormaa Ahenkro.

The School of Sciences, School of Natural Resources, School of Graduate Studies, the Main Administration of the University, and the University Library are all located on the roughly 85-acre Sunyani campus.

Standards for the Admissions Process

The following requirements must be met by applicants before proceeding to the online application platform:

1. A legitimate personal email.

2. A working mobile phone number for yourself.

3. Scan copies of official transcripts and diplomas.

4. A digital passport photo that meets the conditions listed below:

  •      Frontal perspective, open eyes, and full face.
  •      Make sure the photo shows the entire head, from the top of the hair to the shoulders.
  •      Take a picture with an off-white or pure-white background.
  •      Keep your background and face free of shadows.
  •      Avoid donning caps or sunglasses.

Procedures for Filling Out the Application Form

1. Enter your pin and application number.

2. Pick the type of application.

3. Change the voucher’s default PIN to your own PIN (your PIN must be a minimum of 8 characters).

4. Complete the form on the personal data page.

5. After completing the form, click submit.

The Academic and Student Affairs Division, University of Energy and Natural Resources, Suyani, must receive two (2) copies of the completed online application forms, certified copies of all certificates and result slips, and copies of birth certificates (Not Returnable).

How to Resend a Pin

1. On the login screen, click the Forgot My Pin link.

2. Type in the application number.

3. Select “Proceed” (you’ll receive an SMS with your pin).

It will not be possible for applicants who have not finished the form to change their pin.
