How much will my tuition fees be?

Tuition fees vary for different courses and are subject to revision each year.

Please search for your chosen course of interest and navigate to the ‘Fees & funding’ section of the entry for all tuition fee details.

The fees listed on the postgraduate prospectus are for the first year of a course only – if your course continues into subsequent years, the fees for those years may differ. Most courses last more than a single year and it is therefore likely that tuition fees for your course will increase annually, reflecting the changes in costs of delivering your course and any changes in government policy or regulation.

King’s reserves the right to increase fees annually. You should expect fees to increase by at least 3% on the previous academic year’s tuition fee. Tuition fee increases may only sometimes apply to self-funding overseas fees status students, but not to home/EU fee status students as fees are subject to a cap imposed by regulatory requirements.

Where such increases are necessary, King’s will publish the new fees on its website not less than 3 months’ notice before the start of the academic year to which the fee increase is intended to apply.

Please note that any annual increase in tuition fees will not exceed 5%.

Where a student has to interrupt their study due to a) financial difficulty, b) serious health matters, or c) serious personal issues, the cap on fee increases will also apply for breaks of one year. Fee arrangements for longer breaks in study will be determined on a case by case basis.

Note for students from the European Union

King’s remains fully committed to being a multicultural, international university and our European students are a very important part of our community.

• The UK government has confirmed that students from the EU, EEA or Switzerland will no longer be eligible for home fee status, and will instead pay the overseas tuition fee rate.
• Students who started their course in the 2023/21 academic year or earlier will still be liable for the home rate of tuition fees if they continue to meet the existing residency criteria.
• Please be aware that the official policy governing fee assessment and funding entitlement for the 2023-22 academic year has not yet been published so we are unable to provide any details of these at this stage.
• EU, EEA and Swiss students who started their degrees in the 2023-21 academic year or earlier should be aware that some changes of circumstance (e.g. suspension of study) may lead to loss of entitlement for home-rate fees.

Important note for previous study students

Students who are looking to study at an equivalent or lower level than they have already achieved in the past should review our previous study information that may affect the payment of tuition fees.

Tuition fee payment advice

Please visit our Credit Control department’s webpages on student fee payments for information on how and when to pay your fees.

This will vary depending on whether you are postgraduate or undergraduate, home/EU or overseas and self-funded or sponsored.

For self-funded students fees will automatically be split into two equal instalments at no extra charge to you. The first instalment is due for payment by 31st October or 14 days after the due date of the invoice, and the second instalment should be paid by 31st January.

Please note, you will be classifed as “self funded” for any part of your fees which you, a friend or family member are paying. 

If you have secured funding for your tuition fees from an external corporate body, your sponsor is invoiced for the fee directly and payment is due immediately.

For students in receipt of an award funded by King’s, arrangements will be made to ensure tuition fees are charged appropriately. In the event of a query, students should contact the office which issued the award offer letter.
