A sandwich degree, or sandwich course, is an academic degree or higher education course (also known as tertiary education) involving practical work experience and academic study.

The work experience is often referred to as an industrial placement or internship.  Sandwich students are university students whose courses include a one-year placement within a relevant industry like business,  or teaching.

However, the management of the University of Education Winneba (UEW) has released the names of successful students who offered provisional admission into various programs for the 2023/2024 academic session.

UEW Admission List contains all the names of students who are admitted into the university for the 2023/2024 academic session.

Therefore, all students who apply for admission into the University of Education Winneba (UEW) should check the UEW Admission List portal as the names of successful students are listed.

Procedures for Checking UEW Sandwich Admission

The UEW Sandwich admission list can be successfully uploaded online. Nevertheless, your admission Status can also checked from your school’s official website.

1. Successful applicants shall receive Text Messages from their respective Colleges of Choice to print their admission letters.

2. The successful applicants shall receive their Application Numbers as well as Personal Identification Numbers to be able to access their admission letters.

3. Applicants who could not receive their messages can still visit the notice board of their Colleges of Choice to check their names on the board.

4. Such applicants after finding their names on the board should contact the College Administration for further information regarding their Admission.

How to Apply for UEW Sandwich Programme

1. Log on to www.uew.edu.gh/admissions, select your preferred entry mode to study in the University, Regular/Fulltime, Sandwich, Distance and Postgraduate.

2. Once you have decided your entry mode, it is time to buy your application form. There are three options available to conveniently buy a form,

3. Visit our website on www.uew.edu.gh/admissions to buy form online through MTN, VodaCash and AirtelTigo mobile money platforms.

4. Use the short code *887*9# to buy a form on all mobile networks in Ghana

5. Buy Voucher from: GCB Bank, ADB Bank, Republic Bank, Zenith Bank, Prudential Bank, and Access Bank.

Once you have your PIN, click on apply now, then enter your PIN. Where you have a Serial and a PIN enter them as required to progress to the application form.

Proceed to enter your personal details, educational history and results/qualifications, programme choice and attach your supporting documents then submit the application form.

You would receive a notification in your email and by text message to your phone when you successfully complete the application form.

Applicants applying for postgraduate programmes should download a Referee Report form and submit to graduateadmissions@uew.edu.gh after submitting the application forms

Look out for the Progress ID to enable you to continue filling out the application form from which ever point you decide to leave the application before final submission.

How Long is the Sandwich Program

Holders of Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) with at least a merit aggregate; plus a minimum of credit pas in the subject to be combined with education are eligible for admission into the 5-years Sandwich Degree Programme in Education.

The NCE Sandwich course is for a duration of five contact sessions. Candidates admitted for the programme will be required to attend a ten-week contact term per session during each long vacation.
