Cameron University Athletics

Cameron Aggies is a member National Collegiate Athletic  Association(NCAA) II which takes part in training students in the athletics which that is played in the intercollegiate level. These athletics include men’s baseball, basketball, cross-country, tennis, women’s basketball, softball, volleyball track golf, etc.

Cameron Aggies have been excellent that they have won many conferences, including regionals and a national championship.

Cameron University Athletics is one of the strongest holds of trying this college (Cameron University) on the basis that they have produced athletes that have gone on to compete in the professional level.

Venue for athletic activities at chosen based on the kind and time of athlete. These venues include the Aggie gim,  McCord baseball field,  stretch-Henry family Tennis complex. And the McMahon field and athletic center.

Cameron university made it free for the public spectators to see all the games except volleyball and basketball. But students from Cameron University are allowed to free of charge including volleyball and basketball, all they would need is to present their ID cards.

Fixtures are always available in the athletic department through posters and schedule cards.

Cameron University Baseball

Cameron University Baseball is played at the intercollegiate level.

Cameron University still suffers the same I’ll not usually be producing professional baseball players. But significantly, the production of players from college league or minor leagues to professional leagues is more common in baseball than other athletics, which Cameron university baseball unit has been instrumental in.

Cameron University baseball is played under the auspice NCAA where the NCAA writes the rule for the play.

The final rounds of the Cameron baseball tournament are known as the College World Series; one is held on each of the three levels of competition sanctioned by the NCAA. The Cameron University  Series for Division II takes place in Omaha, Nebraska in June, because of the busy season and regular season.

The playoff of the Cameron University baseball Division II, with four teams playing at each of 16 regional sites (in a double-elimination format ).

The 16 winners advance to the Super Regionals at eight sites, played head-to-head in a best-of-three series. The eight winners then advance to the College World Series, a double elimination tournament (actually two separate four-team brackets) to determine the two national finalists. The finalists play a best-of-three series to determine the Division I national champion.

Cameron University has not won the world series for some time now, where the most recent world college series winner being Ore.

Cameron University Softball

Cameron University softball is a softball played in the intercollegiate level. At Cameron University, this sport is usually played by women at the intercollegiate level, and it is played under the auspice of the National Collegiate Athletic Association(NCAA),  Where NCAA writes the rules.

The softball is played in rounds until the final round where the final round of the tournament is known as the women’s college world series.

Cameron University softball is normally played by women at the Intercollegiate level, whereas college baseball is normally played by men.

Cameron University Basketball

Generally, college basketball is governed by many athletic bodies,  which includes the United States’s National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA).

Governing bodies in Canada include U Sports and the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Each of these various organizations is subdivided into from one to three divisions based on the number and level of scholarships that may be provided to the athletes.

Each organization has different conferences to divide up the teams into groups. Teams are selected into these conferences depending on the location of the schools. These conferences are put in due to the regional play of the teams and to have a structural schedule for each the team to play for the upcoming year. During conference play, the teams are ranked not only through the entire NCAA [1], but the conference as well in
which they have tournament play leading into the NCAA tournament [2].

The Cameron University basketball is governed by NCCA, Because the institution basically partners with this Associate in all of it collegial athletic activities, therefore there basketball is not an exception.

1. UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP

Below are the undergraduate scholarships:

BARBARA HUGHES EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP

Applicants must be declared education major, admitted to teacher education, hold junior or higher classification, have a GPA of 3.0 or better, and demonstrate financial need. Applications are available in Nance-Boyer 1012.

BERNICE PITTMAN MOSS SCHOLARSHIP IN TEACHER EDUCATION

Awarded for the fall during the preceding spring semester. Applicants must be juniors or seniors, have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or above, be admitted to the teacher education program, and demonstrate financial need. The Pittman Moss scholarship is renewable as long as a 3.0 GPA is achieved during the first semester of the award and may be renewed for up to four semesters. Applications are available in Nance-Boyer 1012.

BUCK AND IRENE CLEMENTS EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP

Awarded for the fall during the preceding spring semester. Applicants must be currently enrolled full time in or have completed early childhood classes, participate in extracurricular activities on and/or off campus, and be eligible for admission to teacher education. Preference is given to student teachers. Applications are available on the Cameron financial assistance website.

CLEO CRAIG ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP IN SPECIAL EDUCATION

Applicants must be a resident of southwest Oklahoma, full-time junior or senior student, pursuing a degree in special education, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. The Craig scholarship may be retained for up to six semesters until the special education certification is completed provided the recipient remains full-time and maintains the minimum GPA. Applications are available in Nance-Boyer 1012.

COMANCHE COUNTY RETIRED TEACHERS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP

Awarded each year to a pre-service teacher who is a junior or above (maybe post-baccalaureate). Criteria are GPA, 2 letters of reference, need, an interview, and a 300-word essay. Finalists are selected by the Department Scholarship Committee. A panel from the Comanche County Retired Teachers Association reviews the finalists and selects the recipient. See Mrs. Ramona Mott for applications during the spring semester.

HEINZ FAMILY ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP

Applicants must be education majors, residents of southwest Oklahoma for the past five (5) years, and have a GPA of 2.0-3.5. Applications are available in Nance-Boyer 1012.

JANE M. MORSE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Awarded for the fall during the preceding spring semester. Applicants must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or above, be admitted to the teacher education program in elementary education, and enrolled in at least twelve hours of course work at Cameron. REGENT’S FUTURE TEACHER SCHOLARSHIPS

Awarded for the fall during the preceding spring semester for areas of teacher shortages. Shortage areas are posted outside Mrs. Mott’s office, NB 1012. Applications may be obtained from the Dean’s office—Nance-Boyer 1023.

SCOTTISH RITE SCHOLARSHIP

Awarded for the fall during the preceding spring semester. The student must be student teaching in the spring of the academic year for which the award is made. Applications are available from the Dean’s office—Nance-Boyer 1023.

SONDRA BONNINGTON MEMORIAL ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP

Awarded for the fall during the preceding spring semester. Applicants must be classified as a junior, senior, or graduate, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, be seeking special education by certification, and enrolled in special education courses. The B.H. and Flora Brewer Endowment was established in 2006 for the benefit of Cameron Graduate students pursuing a Master’s degree in the School of Education and Behavioral Science. The Office of Graduate Studies offers tuition waivers in the amounts of $250 and $350 each semester. Qualified students have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and are enrolled in at least 6 graduate hours. TEACH GRANT FOR M.Ed. READING SPECIALIST CANDIDATES

The TEACH Grant Program provides grants of up to $4,000 a year to students who are completing or plan to complete course work needed to begin a career in teaching.
