The musician started his studies at term from Primary school to Tema Methodist Day Senior High School and enrolled at IPMC to study towards his Graphic Design.

Sarkodie married his longtime girlfriend, Tracy Owusu Addo on the 17th of July in 2023. Their wedding was rumoured to be one of the most expensive weddings to ever take place in Tema. The Addo family is blessed with a baby girl, Adalyn Owusu Addo.

In Ghana music, Sarkodie has made it through because of his clever, freestyle and quick rapping which is always done in a native language (Twi). He began pursuing his dream by rapping and freestyling on a rap show that was being held on Adom 106.3 FM named ‘Kasahare Level’ by Duncan Williams, the host.

He gradually rose to be the best rapper in his hometown, Tema. Through the show, he managed to meet his manager who was at the time the host of the show. Also, during the show, he managed to meet with the top musicians in Ghana such as Edward Nana Poku Osei (Hammer), Edem and Castro.

The name of Sarkodie mother is Emma Maame Aggrey. We do know very little about his dad, but he is alive. His family was a musical one. This is because his mother is a singer and his father admired Michael Jackson. This is why Sarkodie was called Michael. His father has a second wife because he often goes to visit his father and half-brother, and they take pictures together. His father had two wealthy friends by the name ‘Sarkodie.’ He, therefore, linked his name to wealth.
