The compulsory education they put in place covers 10 years and consists of three stages: the primary stage which covers grades 1-4 (age 6-10); the intermediate stage which covers grades 5-7 (ages 10-13) and the lower secondary stage which covers grades 8-10 (age 13-16).

Acceptance Documents (Admission Letter)

The acceptance documents are documents that show you have been granted admission into a university.

 

It is the formal indication of a successful application that a college or university sends out.

 

Acceptance documents i.e. your admission letter is one of the very important documents you would need as someone who intends to go to Norway.

Birth Certificate

A birth certificate is an official document that is issued by government agencies to record a person’s birth and identify them by name, place, date of birth, and parentage.

 

These birth certificates serve as proof of the age, citizenship status and identity of an individual.

 

It is advised that you submit the original copies of your birth certificates.

 

Passport Photographs

Passport photographs are small photographs of a person’s face.

 

The correct size of a passport photograph is: 51 x 51 mm and the head of the person in the photograph should occupy between 25 – 35 mm from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head.

 

Passports photographs required for traveling should be taken in a white background.

 

Medical Certificate

A medical certificate or doctor’s certificate is a written statement/document signed by a doctor or physician or another medically qualified health care provider which attests to the result of a medical examination of a patient.

 

It proves that someone is in good health or healthy enough to do a particular type of work and can serve as a sick note or evidence of a health condition.

 

Your medic certificate must indicate that you must have gone through the following test; a pre-boarding COVID-19 PCR test and this test must be done 48 hrs before departure.

 

Return Ticket

A return ticket is a two-way ticket that entitles a passenger to travel to his or her destination and back again.

 

You will need this ticket to leave the country after the expiration of your residence permit.

Police Character Certificate

A Police Character Certificate (PCC), also referred to as Police Clearance Certificate/Report, is a certificate presented by the police that certifies that the individual has no criminal background.

 

Here in Nigeria, the Police Clearance Certificate is issued by the Ghana Police Force, usually at the Force Criminal Investigation Department, Police Criminal Registry, and in any other Ghana Police Criminal Registry in the country.

 

Valid International Passport

An international passport is an identification document that is issued by the government of a country or governing authority.

 

The main purpose of an international passport is to certify the identity and citizenship of an individual, and to also facilitate the movement of people between different countries.

 

A passport document includes your photo, name, birth date, gender and physical characteristics.

 

As someone who intends going abroad, this is a very important document you are required to have, it is one of the requirements needed for Ghanaian to get the Norwegian student visa.

 

Proof of Funds

The Proof of Funds (POF) document is a letter or documentation that proves if an individual, institution or corporation has sufficient funds to complete a transaction.

 

The Proof of Fund document can be issued by a bank, a financial institution or a trade finance.

 

It is important to take this document with you because you will be asked to prove you have enough money to cater for your financial needs e.g tuition (if you’re not on a scholarship), feeding, accommodation etc.

 

Accomodation

You would be asked to show proof of your accommodation if you won’t be staying at your university’s hall of residence.

 

Additional Document

You need to have a document showing the purpose of your visit – such as an invitation, hotel reservation, etc.
