Olamide was born 15 March 1989 in Bariga, a superb of Lagos, Nigeria.

Olamide grew up in Lagos where he completed his primary and secondary school education, and obtain his first school leaving certificate and his west Africa senior citizenship certificate respectively. After completing his secondary school education, he proceeded to study at Tai Solarin University of Education in Ikenne, Ogun State.

In 2000, he decided to pursue a career in music. When he was asked why music, he said: “I found out I was gifted in it so I had to explore it. It’s my life, my hustle, my world”.

In 2010, Olamide released ‘Eni Duro’ under the Coded Tunes record label which he was signed into at the time. The song instantly shot Olamide to limelight.
