The MPOWER Refugee Scholarship supports students who are fleeing harsh conditions from around the world and coming to the U.S. or Canada for a better future.
We’re proud to announce the MPOWER Refugee Scholarship, which is designed to support students who are fleeing harsh conditions from around the world and are immigrating to the U.S. or Canada for a better future. MPOWER’s Global Citizens Fund will grant three awards worth US$5,000 to support eligible students from around the world.
Deadline:
September 30, 2023 (subsequent deadlines: December 31, 2023; March 31, 2023)
Awards:
$3,000 Grand Prize (x1)
$1,000 Honorable Mention (x2)
Eligibility Requirements:
Be accepted at or enrolled in a full-time degree program at a U.S. or Canadian school that MPOWER supports, and
Be an international student allowed to legally study in the U.S. or Canada, as applicable through one of the following:
Be a refugee or asylee from any country (or pursuing such status)
Have Temporary Protected Status
Be a beneficiary of Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) status
You do not need to apply for a loan with MPOWER but are welcome to.
American and Canadian citizens/permanent residents and those with other immigration statuses are not eligible for this scholarship.
