Acceptance Fees

LU Acceptance fee is a fee that you must pay to any university or Polytechnic as a first-year student/fresher denoting that you have accepted the course and in general the admission that has been offered to you by the school.

The followings are the charges all students of LU need to pay for freshers or first-year that students.

Legacy University fees for new and returning student.

UNDERGRADUATE FEES SCHEDULE  (FOR GAMBIAN NATIONALITIES)

1. Interested Candidates are to obtain the application form for D1, 500.00 or $ 35 and thereafter shall pay an Acceptance fee of D500.00 or $10.
2. Beginning from 2023/2024 session, every Gambian student (New and Returning) will pay for school fees based on the new approved fees schedule.
3. Students are required to pay up to a minimum of 75% of their tuition fees, departmental fees and any miscellaneous fees.
4. This payment is a pre-requisite for registration and access to academic and other activities on campus.
5. All fees are payable in Gambian Dalasi (D) or US Dollars ($) only.
6. Legacy University reserves the right to change its tuition & fee structure per circumstances and needs under the approval of its Board of Directors (BoD); such changes would be posted on the University website and appropriate places on campus.
7. Late payment of tuition fee attracts 2% of the balance due per month.

(FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS) UNDERGRADUATES STUDENTS ONLY

1. Every student admitted as from January 2023 for any programme will pay for school fees based on the new approved fees schedule.
2. Students are required to pay up to a minimum of 75% of their tuition fees, all miscellaneous fees and 50% of programme-specific fees at the beginning of each session.
3. This payment is a pre-requisite for registration and access to academic and other activities on campus.
4. All fees are payable in Gambian Dalasi (D), or US Dollars ($) only. Students who wish to pay in other currency will contact the Bursary for any special arrangement for that purpose.
5. Legacy University reserves the right to change its tuition & fee structure per circumstances under the approval of its Board of Directors (BoD); such changes would be posted on the University website and appropriate places on campus.
6. Late payment of tuition fee attracts 2% of the balance due per month
7. All refunds for fees must follow the approved University refund Policy.

The approved University refund policy is stated as follows;

1. Students, who withdraw prior to commencement of registration, will be entitled to 100% of their fees.
2. After commencement of registration, refund will be calculated as follows:
3. 75% for withdrawal after the first week.
4. 50% for withdrawal after the second week
5. 25% after the third week.
6. No refund will be made after the third week for any withdrawal.
