The IOE-ISH Centenary Taught Master’s Scholarships for International Students is a partnered sponsored scholarship by International Students House (ISH) and the Mary Trevelyan Centenary Scholarship (in honour of the founder of ISH). So, the IOE-ISH Centenary Taught Master’s Scholarships are, however, for international master’s students from low-income or lower-income countries. Also, the scholarship is for those master’s students willing to travel and study in the United Kingdom for a year.
The United Kingdom
More so, the United Kingdom of Great Britain is a sovereign country in northwest Europe and surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. London is the capital and the largest city in the united kingdom. Again, the United Kingdom is made up of England, North Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, as well. In addition, Great Britain has the fifth-largest economy in the world and the first industrialized country in the world. This has made this country become one of the world’s forefront leaders in education, technology, and economy.
Furthermore, education in the United Kingdom obviously is the dream of lots of International students. This need to study in the United Kingdom by international students from around the world stems from the fact that the United Kingdom universities are highly recognized and valued anywhere in the world.
The Institute Of Education IOE
First and foremost, IOE was formerly the University College London’s (UCL) Institute of Education. In 2015, the Institute merged with UCL and has worked across education, culture, psychology, and social science. Additionally, the IOE brace excellence through research and enterprise while creating a future that is inclusive and just.
International Students House (ISH) London
Furthermore, the ISH, as it’s called is a set of lodgings for the 700 British and overseas students in London. So, each year, the house gives out houses to Fulbright Scholars and students from other schools including UCL. As a matter of fact, the House and its partners award residential scholarships to the students.
IOE-ISH Centenary Taught Master’s Scholarships for International Students
In continuation, the IOE-ISH Centenary Taught Master’s Scholarships are for international students burning with the desire to further their studies in the United Kingdom. Again, the beneficiaries of these scholarships must be from low or lower-income countries.
However, it is important to note that, these scholarships are not available for the MBA Educational Neuroscience or for online courses, though. Also, the scholarships do not cover subsistence in London, travel, or any other expense. And it is just for one academic year, as the case may be.
Eligibility
- To be eligible for the IOE-ISH Centenary Taught Master’s Scholarships, you must:
- Reside in an eligible low or lower-income country according to world bank classification.
- In addition to this, have an official unconditional offer to study for a full-time master’s degree at IOE (letter issued by UCL Admissions)
- You must not have studied or lived in the UK before

IOE – Clarke Scholarships
Firstly, this scholarship is for teachers from South Africa. And sponsored by the donation from the family of the previous IOE director.
The IOE – Clarke Scholarships are:
- Available only for practicing school teachers from South Africa who wish to undertake a master’s program at IOE
Benefits
Also, the scholarship will cover:
- Return flights to London
- Tuition fees
- A monthly stipend for accommodation
- Stipend for Subsistence in London
Eligibility
Here, candidates must:
- Be a practicing school teacher
- Secondly, you must be a citizen or resident of South Africa
- Lastly, have an unconditional offer to study for a campus-based master’s degree at IOE

Summarily, these scholarships have easy criteria. as a matter of fact, you do not need to break your back before you can apply. However, be informed that the scholarship does not cover all expenses. But as a matter of fact, it is a good one, regardless.
