Intel Corporation is an American multinational corporation and technology company. It has its headquarter in Santa Clara in California, United States of America.

Intel is the world’s largest semiconductor chip manufacturer. Also, it is the developer of the x86 series of microprocessors. Intel ranked number 45 in the 2023 fortune 500 lists of the largest United States corporations.  It was by total revenue from 2007 to 2016.

More so, Intel Corporation supplies microprocessors to many computer system manufacturers around the world. Companies like, HP, Acer, Dell, Lenovo, and other computer manufacturing companies. Not just that, Intel is the major supplier of microprocessors for Personal Computers (PC). Furthermore, they also manufactured motherboard chips, flash memory, graphics chips, embedded processors, network interface controllers, and integrated circuits.

AFCEA International

Armed Forces Communication and Electronics Association (AFCEA) International. The part sponsors of Intel-AFCEA Diversity Scholarship 2023 is a non-profit membership association that is serving the military, government, industry, and academia. It is a forum for advancing professional knowledge.

AFCEA connects people, ideas, and solutions for global security and promotes STEM education and membership benefits. They also produce the SIGNAL Magazine, a U.S based monthly magazine that talks about the military, government, information technology, and intelligence. Furthermore, AFCEA collaborates with industry communities just like Intel to do something outstanding.

In essence, AFCEA has their main purpose of operation which is to provide a forum for the ethical exchange of information and increase knowledge through the exploration of issues relevant to its members in information technology, communications, and electronics for the defense, homeland security, and intelligence communities.

 

Eligibility

  • The candidate must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States of America.
  • You must be part of the underrepresented group. That is, a female tech, African American, Latin, Native America, or Hispanic origin.
  • Applicant must be either be a current member of the Armed Forces, service veteran, active-duty service member, or a Gold Star Family Member with evidence.
  • The candidate must be a full-time student in an accredited U.S University. And you must be currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate (Master’s or Ph.D.) degree.
  • Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA.
  • Distance-learning or online programs affiliated with a major United States institution are eligible.
  • Undergraduate applicants must be second-year college students enrolled as a sophomore or junior in a four-year institution at the time of application. A current overall GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale is required.
  • Freshman and senior college students are not eligible to apply.
  • Graduate applicants must currently be enrolled in their second semester and at least two (2) semester equivalent courses per term at an accredited United States college or University. A current overall GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale is required.

Intel-AFCEA Diversity Scholarship Benefits

  • Two thousand five hundred dollars scholarship fund will be awarded to a selected undergraduate applicant.
  • A three thousand dollars scholarship fund will be awarded to a successful graduate candidate.
  • Scholarship funding is restricted to tuition, course-related expenses such as fees, books, supplies. Also, for all the equipment that you will need for the study.
  • Potential opportunity for an Intel mentor, Intel job (internship or full-time).
  • Access to training, research, Intel architecture (hardware or software).
  • Networking with other Intel scholars.
  • All award checks are written to the university to be deposited into the student’s account.

 

Application process

  • A current official transcript reflecting classes in progress must be issued by the school’s registrar’s office.
  • Names and email addresses for one source of letter of recommendation.
  • Completed application form.
  • One letter of recommendation.
  • Current resume.
  • Official transcript.

 

Moving forward, the instruction for the electronic submission of the recommendation letter will be provided to the endorsers automatically. This will be part of the online application process. Please, do not mail separately.
