How To Apply To The R350 Grant Under The New Rules

Since there is no longer a National State of Disaster, the Special Relief of Distress (SRD) grant is currently administered under the Social Assistance Act rather than the State of Disaster Act. What changes have been made to SRD grant applications?

It is anticipated that the SRD funding would expire in March 2023. Applications for Sassa R350 grants are accepted on a monthly basis.

How to apply for the SRD grant online

  • Go to srd.sassa.gov.za
  • To apply for this SRD Grant, go to the “How Do I Apply” section.
  • Click the “click here to apply online” link in the yellow bar.
  • put your mobile number in
  • Enter the one-time pin that Sassa has issued to the number and then click “send sms.”
  • Complete the Sassa-required forms to continue the application process.

  • Create a contact for 082 046 8553 on your phone
  • Send a message saying “hello” to this number using WhatsApp.
  • After that, you will get a response, to which you ought to reply, “Help.”

An applicant must authorize Sassa to verify his or her identification, residency, income, or social security benefits in order to access or have your SRD grant application taken into consideration. Additionally, applicants must agree to the declaration and consent.

Existing beneficiaries are urged to reapply under the new Act. You won’t need to apply again once you’ve already done so.

Instead of submitting several applications across different platforms, applicants are asked to submit only one application. As soon as the application has been properly submitted, confirmation will be received.

All SRD grant applications received by the 15th of the month must then be approved or rejected by Sassa. The recipients will then get an SMS telling them if they were accepted or not.
