The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology founded Garden City University College as a private postsecondary institution in 2001 in order to offer further education to students who were denied admission to Ghana’s state universities.

Admission Requirements

1. Applicants must have Six(6) SSCE/WASSCE/GBCE Credit Passes including 3 Core subjects: English, Mathematics, and Integrated Science, and 3 Elective subjects with at least an aggregate of 24 or 36 for SSSCE and WASSCE respectively, or better.

2. A minimum of three (3) ‘A’ Level/ABCE passes or five (5) credits at the ordinary level, including English and math.

3. HND degrees with the option of specialization in pertinent fields are also eligible for Top-Up programs.

4. Applicants seeking admission to BSc. Computer Science Programme must have a credit pass in Elective Mathematics.

5. RSA, SRN, RGN, RGM ‘A’ Level Holders, and those with other equivalent qualifications plus basic SSCE/WASSCE/’O’ Level Qualifications will be placed at levels 200 & 300 for a three & two-year Top-Up program.

Mature Candidates

1. Must be 25 years at the time of application.

2. You must have passes in English and Mathematics in SSSCE/WASSCE.

3. A minimum of two (2) years of work experience.

4. And must pass a GCUC Mature Student Entry Examinations.

BSc Nursing/Midwifery Program

1. Applicants with backgrounds in Home Science, General Science, General Art, or General Agricultural are eligible.

2. SRN, RGN, and RM holders with a diploma in nursing or midwifery are eligible for top-up programs.

B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology

1. Senior High School Certificate (SSSCE) and/or West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) with an aggregate of 24 or better.

2. Or a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or HND in Science Laboratory Technology with one year of post-qualification experience in a hospital laboratory.

3. And must also pass an entrance examination and/or admission interview.

B.Sc. Physician Assistantship

Senior High School Certificate (SSSCE) aggregate 24 or West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) with aggregate 36 or better or equivalent qualifications and must be proficient in English.

B.Sc. Dental Therapy

1. Must have at least a credit pass in each of the three (3) required core subjects—Integrated Science, Mathematics, and English Language—at the WASSCE or SSSCE level.

2. At least three (3) elective subjects, such as biology, chemistry, and physics, or an elective in mathematics, must be passed with a C or better.

3. At the time of admission, mature applicants must be at least 25 years old and must have either five GCE O-Level credits.

And that includes English language and mathematics. Or a WASSCE/SSSCE with a minimum credit pass in three core subjects (English, Mathematics, and Integrated Science). And also plus three elective subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or Mathematics).
