Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) Recruitment 2023/2024 Entry Requirements

Regular Career Course candidate’s Requirements

  1. Eligible applicants should be
  2. Be a Ghanaian
  3. Be a good character
  4. Not be married
  5. Not be bonded
  6. Not be less than 18years and not more than 26years by January 2023
  7. Be medically fit by Ghana Armed Forces Standards
  8. Must pass the pre – joining fitness test
  9. Be minimum height of 168cm(“5.6cm”) for males and 1.60m(5.4cm) for females for military police only: the minimum height for male applicants should be (1.753)(5.9) and 1.70(5.7) for females
  10. Must have the following
  11. BECE: six(6) credits at BECE including English and mathematics
  12. WASSCE: six(6) credits not less than C6 including Core English, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science.
  13. SSSCE: six (6) credits ( not less than D) including Core English, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science.
  14. GCE ‘O’ & ‘A’ Levels: Five (5) Credits (not less than 6) including English and Mathematics at GCE ‘O’ Level and not less than D in three subjects and General Paper at GCE ‘A’ Level.

Ghana Army Recruitment 2023/2024 Requirements

  1. Infantry/Armour/Artillery: In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree from a recognized University.
  2. Signal Corps: In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree from a recognized University/Institution in any of the following: (1) Telecommunication Engineering (2) Computer Science, (3) Computer/Software Engineering, (4) Instrumentation/Systems/Network Engineering. (5) Physics/Mathematics
  3. Engineer Corps. In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree from a recognized University/Institution in any of the following; (1) Civil Engineering. (2) Electrical/Renewable Energy Engineering. (3) Mechanical/ Agricultural Engineering. (4) Building Technology /Construction, Management. (5) Geomatic/Geodetic Engineering.   4. Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. Corps In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must a First Degree from a recognized University/ Institution in any of the following: (1) Agricultural Engineering.   5. Military Police: In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree from a recognized University/Institution in any of the following: (1) Forensic Science.   6.   7. Supply and Transport Corps: In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree of equivalent  from a recognized University/institution in any of the following: Logistics/Procurement Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Purchasing and supply

Pay Corps: In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree of equivalent  from a recognized University/institution in any of the following: (1) Accounting.(2) Finance.(3) Economics.(4) Commerce. Alternatively, applicants with CA (Ghana), CIMA, ACCA, CPA, ICSA are eligible.
  9. Information Technology: In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree or Equivalent from a recognized University/Institution in any of the following: (1) Computer Science (2) Computer Engineering. (3) Information Technology. (4) Network/Software Engineering. (5) Cyber/Forensic Security. (6) Network Security. (7) Information Technology Systems Auditing (j)
  10. Education Corps. In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree from a recognized University/Institution in in any of the following languages: (1) Education. (2) Language Translation/Interpretation in Arabic, Russian, Chinese. (3) German and Portuguese as third language may be preferable.
  11. Public Relations: In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have First Degree in any of the following from a recognized University/Institution; (1) Communication Studies or Fine Arts (NAFTI). (2) Public Relations, (3) Journalism.
  12. Physical Training and Sports: In addition to the general eligibility, applicants have a First Degree in Physical Education from a recognized University/
  13. Band: In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree in Music from a recognized University/Institution.
  14. Records: In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree from a recognized University/Institution in the following: (1) Actuarial Science, (2) Administration (Human Resource). (3) Statistics. (4) Management Information Studies. (5) Archival Studies.
  15. Catering School. In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree from a recognized University/Institution in Home Economics.

Ghana Navy Recruitment 2023/2024 Requirements

  1. Executive Branch: In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a First Degree from a recognized University/Institution in any of the following: (1) Nautical Science. e.Signals Corps.

(1)        Operation Group.        In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits (not less than Grade C6) at WASSCE including English and Mathematics.  Possession of a valid driving licence is an advantage.

(2)        Radio Technician.        In addition to the General Eligibility applicant must have Mathematics, Physics, Elective Mathematics and any of the following:

(a)        City and Guilds Certificate in Electronics.

(b)        City and Guilds Certificate in Telecommunications.

(3)        Line Technician.        In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits (not less than Grade C6) at WASSCE including English and Mathematics and any of the following:

(a)        Certificate in Fibre Optics Technology.

(b)        Certificate in RF Engineering.

(c)        Certificate in Satellite Communications.

f. Directorate of Information Technology(DIT). In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits (not less than Grade C6) at WASSCE including English and Mathematics and any of the following:

(1)        Network Administration.     N+ Certificate from a recognised Institution including knowledge in LINUX/Windows Server 2003, 2008 and above.

(2)        Database Administration.     Certification in My SQL, SQL, and Oracle from a recognised Institution.

(3)        Computer Programming.     Certification in VB, C++ and Java from a recognised Institution.

(4)        Web Designing.         Certification in HTML, PHP, CSS, CMS, Adobe and Photoshop from a recognised Institution.

g. Supply and Transport Corps. In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits (not less than Grade C6) at WASSCE including English and Mathematics and any of the following:

(1)        Drivers. Professional Driving Licence Class B.

(2)        Supply Clerks/Storeman. Certificate in computer software applications (Word, Excel, Access, Corel Drawing etc) from a recognised Institution.

(3)        Movement.     Diploma/Certificate in Freight Forwarding/Air Travel and Tour from a recognised Institution.

(4)        Fireman/Woman.      Certificate in Fire Fighting from National Fire Service plus professional Driving Licence class B.

(5)        Cooks.            In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have the following qualification from a recognised Institution.

h. Public Relations Corps. In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(1)        Information Assistants.         Diploma/Certificate (not less than one year continuous study) from a recognised/accredited institution in Journalism, Public Relations, English Language /Literature, Broadcasting, Communication Studies or Photo journalism.

(2)        Photographers.  Diploma/Certificate (not less than one year continuous study) from a recognised/accredited institution in general photography.

(3)        Cinematographer.      Diploma/Certificate (not less than one year continuous study) from a recognised/accredited institution in Fine Art, Film Editing, Camera Work, Lighting, Film Directing, Sound, Graphic Design or Animation.

i. Ordnance Corps.

(1)        Storeman/Woman. In addition to General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits (not less than Grade C6) at WASSCE and Diploma in Business Studies and HND in Purchasing and Supply.

(2)        Ammunition Technicians.  In addition to General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits (not less than Grade C6) at WASSCE including science subjects.

(3)        Tailors.           In addition to General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(a) GES Intermediate Certificate.

(b) COVET Certificate II.

j. Clerk General Duties. In addition to General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits (not less than Grade C6) at WASSCE including Credit in English and Mathematics and any of the following.

(1)        RSA Stage III in secretarial duties and credit in typing.

(2)        Typist Grade I and II Certificate from Government Secretarial School.

(3)        Stenographer Grade II Certificate.

(4)        DBS (Secretarial Option).

(5)        Certificate in computer software applications (Word, Excel, Access, Corel Drawing etc) from a recognised Institution.

k. Education Corps. In addition to General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits (not less than Grade C6) at WASSCE including English and Mathematics and any of the following.

All applicants are required to carefully read through the entry requirements for clarification before application. Take note of all required data in the subsequent steps.

    1. Acquire a scratch card at FIFTY GHANA CEDIS (GH?50.00) from selected post offices nation-wide.
    1. Scratch gently to reveal the “PIN” code. The scratch card can be used for three times until a record is successfully submitted.
    1. Log on to the recruitment portal @ http://www.gafrecruitment.com with any of the following browsers:
    1. Read through the entry requirements thoroughly.
    1. Ensure your mobile phone’s Cell Broadcast Message Service is turned “ON”. This can be done by going through the following steps on your phone:
        • Messages
        • Message Settings
        • Find “Cell Broadcast/Broadcast Message/CB Activation/Advertisement” depending on your brand of mobile phone.
        • Set activation “ON”.
        • Set all channels to “RECEIVE” and exit message settings.
    1. Then, click on the Apply Now Tab to open the applicant authentication page.
    1. Enter your card Serial NumberPIN code and select your preferred Arm of Service, type of commission and click Submit”.
    1. Enter your personal details and take note of the following from Pages 1 to 3:
        • Page 1; Select your desired vacancy and provide all other required data.
        • Page 2; Upload a scanned copy of your passport-sized photograph of dimension (170 x 150 pixels), enter a valid e-mail address, personal mobile phone number in the format (233244123456) and enter any other required data.
        •  Page 3; Enter the results of only the TWO required core subjects on your WASSCE/SSSCE Certificate, that is; CORE MATHEMATICS AND CORE ENGLISH. Enter your WASSCE or SSSCE Index numberWASSCE or SSSCE Certificate Serial Number. Upload only scanned copies of the following; WASSCE or SSSCE Certificate and Degree Certificate.  NB:  Each scanned document (Passport picture, WASSCE or SSSCE Certificate, Degree Certificate) to be uploaded, should not exceed 1(One) Megabyte and should be in JPEG picture format only.
    1. Click on the Preview Button to see a summary page of all data provided. Read through this page carefully and click on the back button, if there are any modifications to be made.
    1. Click on the submit button and expect an instant e-mail and text message, which includes your unique system generated Identification Number.
  1. Print and keep a copy of the generated report as you will be required to present it, if you are Qualified. However, if you lose your copy of the final report, go back to the recruitment portal, click on the PRINT SUMMARY Tab, enter your unique identification number sent to you by SMS/E-mail and order a re-print.
