Note that the scholarships are mainly available for incoming international students that are applying directly to Dalhousie University from high school. - All applicants regardless of citizenship are eligible
- Students applying to Dalhousie University directly from high school for September 2023 can apply
- Mature students that have not completed any transferable post-secondary study are eligible to apply
- Transfer applicants are not eligible to apply to the General Entrance Award Program with the exception of Indigenous Black and First National students from the Maritimes that wish to be considered for the First Nations and Indigenous Black Student Scholarship
- Applicants should have an 80% admission average which is placed on the university’s website.

Open to: Students from Jamaica entering the Bachelor of Engineering program and demonstrated academic excellence but in financial needs.
The Sankofa Scholarships
Value: International Students $48,000 ($12,000 per year. Renewable for 4 years)
Open to: one award for an international student of Black/African descent from the Caribbean (preference to those from the former British West Indies) entering an undergraduate degree program
