The College of Education Admission Forms for the academic year are now available, and we’re here to guide you through the application process.

The release of the Admission Forms for All Colleges of Education in Ghana was announced in the Colleges of Education Weekly Journal newspaper. The application period is open from now until Monday, 31st October.

With the introduction of the new four-year Bachelor of Education degree program, prospective educators can now obtain their first degree upon completion of the program.

College of Education Admission Requirements 

To be eligible for the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) program, applicants must meet certain requirements based on their educational background:

WASSCE/SSSCE Applicants

1. WASSCE Holders should have credit passes (A1-C6) in six subjects, including English Language and Core Mathematics, and three elective subjects relevant to their course of study.

2. SSSCE Holders should have passes (A-D) in six subjects, including English Language and Core Mathematics, and three elective subjects relevant to their course of study.

3. Candidates awaiting results from the MAY/JUNE WASSCE or NABPTEX can also apply.

General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advance Level Applicants

1. Passes in three subjects, with at least one pass at Grade D or better.

2. Credit passes (Grade 6) in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, and a Science subject (for non-science students) or an Arts subject (for Science students).

Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE) Applicants

1. Passes in three subjects, with at least one pass at Grade D or better.

2. Credit passes in five subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies in the General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE).

Technical and Vocational Education Training Applicants

1. Possess Certificate II in three relevant trade areas awarded by TEU, NVTI, City & Guilds, or other authorized awarding bodies, in addition to NABPTEX Certificate II in lieu of passes in English and Mathematics.

2. Have NABPTEX Certificate II in relevant trade areas in addition to three credit passes in WASSCE/SSSCE core subjects including English and Mathematics.

3. Possess a National Certificate II qualification in Competency-Based Training (CBT) in a relevant trade area awarded by TEU on the National TVET Qualification Framework (NTVETQF).

Foreign Applicants

1. All foreign qualifications should be referred to the National Accreditation Board (NAB) for determination of equivalences and eligibility for admission to Teacher Education Institutions in Ghana.

2. Note that American SAT, TOEFL, etc., cannot be accepted as entry qualifications into Ghanaian tertiary educational institutions.

Special Needs Applicants

1. Visually Impaired applicants should have credit passes (A1-C6) in two CORE subjects, including English Language and Social Studies, and three relevant elective subjects.

2. Hearing Impaired applicants should have credit passes (A1-C6) in three CORE subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, and three relevant elective subjects.

College of Education Admission Courses 

The following programs are currently offered for admission:

1. B.Ed. Early Grade Education

2. B.Ed. Primary Education

3. B.Ed. JHS Education

How to Apply for College of Education Forms

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to apply for the College of Education Admission Forms:

1. Begin the application by making a payment of Two Hundred Cedis (GHC200.00) into the college account at any branch of Consolidated Bank Ghana Limited.

2. Alternatively, you can make payment through mobile money on networks like Tigo Cash, Vodafone Cash, Airtel Money, and MTN Mobile Money by dialing short code 9248# from all networks.

3. After payment, you will receive a Personal Identification Number (PIN) and an Admission Application Serial Number.

4. Visit the Colleges of Education admission website and follow the specific instructions provided to fill out the online application form.

5. Select three Colleges of your choice for your program and an accompanying Ghanaian Language.

6. Ensure that you complete the online application form accurately, as incomplete forms will not be processed.

7. After completing the online application form, print a copy, attach one passport photograph, and include a copy/copy of your results slip(s) (where available).

8. Use an EMS priority envelope obtainable from Ghana Post nationwide and address it to the Principal of your first-choice College (as selected in step 5).

9. You will receive an SMS (text message) confirming your application, so ensure that you provide the correct phone number when filling out the online application form.

10. Admission offer notifications will also be sent to you by SMS after processing your application. If you do not receive such notifications, your application may not have been successful.

11. Be aware that the Colleges will verify the results and details you provide with the WAEC as part of the admission process.

Submitting fake or falsified documents may lead to legal consequences.
