Need-based Cedar Crest College Grants obtained through the generosity of friends and alumnae of the College and differ according to financial need as determined by the FAFSA formula and consideration of other resources. Therefore, students must complete the FAFSA to be considered for a Cedar Crest College grant.  CCC Grants are available only to full-time traditional students during the regular fall and spring semesters.

 

Federal Pell Grants

The Federal Pell Grant is awarded on the basis of need and the cost of the individual college. Requirements to participate in the competition: must be admitted to Cedar Crest and have been awarded a Presidential, Trustee or Founder’s Scholarship.

Merit Scholarships

Merit scholarships are awarded to traditional, full-time first-year students based on academic criteria, including but not limited to high school grade point average (GPA), SAT or ACT scores and class rank.

$22,000 per year, 2.5 GPA required for renewal

Trustee Scholarship
$20,000per year, 2.5 GPA required for renewal

Founders Scholarship

Latina Leadership Partner Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to traditional, full-time first-year or transfer Lehigh Valley Latino students in partnership with the Latino Leadership Alliance of the Lehigh Valley. Admissions Requirements: Traditional Students

Cedar Crest College enrolls students who have shown noble academic achievement and promise in combination with varied interests, talents and backgrounds. The high school record is an important factor in the selection of candidates.

A good foundation for the Cedar Crest curriculum includes a college preparatory program of four years of English, three years of mathematics, two years of laboratory science, three years of social studies, two years of international language, and three or four academic electives. Individually, the College is willing to consider a good student whose preparation does not include all of these subjects.

In addition to meeting the admission requirements of the College, applicants for the nursing and nuclear medicine programs should include two consecutive years of laboratory science (biology and chemistry) in their high school curriculum. Candidates for the nuclear medicine program also should include one year of physics in their high school curriculum. Both women and men may apply for admission to the nursing and nuclear medicine programs.

Evaluation of transfer credit is done on a course-by-course basis by the registrar after an evaluation of official college transcripts. Need-Based Grant Programs

Cedar Crest Grants

Need-based Cedar Crest College Grants obtained through the generosity of friends and alumnae of the College and differ according to financial need as determined by the FAFSA formula and consideration of other resources. Therefore, students must complete the FAFSA to be considered for a Cedar Crest College grant.  CCC Grants are available only to full-time traditional students during the regular fall and spring semesters.

 

Federal Pell Grants

The Federal Pell Grant is awarded on the basis of need and the cost of the individual college. Federal Pell Grants are for eligible students enrolled for at least three credits per semester and are automatically awarded to qualifying students who have completed the FAFSA and submitted all subsequently requested documentation.

Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grants (SEOG)

These grants are awarded in different amounts to Federal Pell Grant-eligible students with exceptional financial need from low-income families. Since SEOG is a federal allocation, funds are streamlined. To apply, you need to complete your FAFSA application. This grant is awarded in addition to the Federal Pell Grant.

Pennsylvania State Grants (administered by PHEAA)

This state grant is available to eligible Pennsylvania residents taking at least six credits per semester. PA grants are awarded to those that demonstrate great financial need.

To stand a chance of winning this grant, you need to complete the FAFSA by Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA). PHEAA determines all PA State Grant awards.

Cedar Crest Scholarship

This full-tuition scholarship was awarded to one first-year traditional student who is the winner of our annual Scholarship Competition.  Additional scholarship money awarded to finalists.

This scholarship covers full-time tuition minus any additional grants or outside scholarships and supersedes any other Cedar Crest money.

Requirements to participate in the competition: must be admitted to Cedar Crest and have been awarded a Presidential, Trustee or Founder’s Scholarship.

Scholarship worth: $40,967 per year; 3.0 GPA required for renewal

Merit Scholarships

Merit scholarships are awarded to traditional, full-time first-year students based on academic criteria, including but not limited to high school grade point average (GPA), SAT or ACT scores and class rank.

Presidential Scholarship
$22,000 per year, 2.5 GPA required for renewal

Trustee Scholarship
$20,000per year, 2.5 GPA required for renewal

Founders Scholarship
$19,000 per year, 2.5 GPA required for renewal

Dean’s Scholarship
$18,000 per year, 2.25 GPA required for renewal

Fellows Scholarship
$17,000 per year, 2.25 GPA required for renewal

Students are eligible to receive a merit scholarship and two additional scholarships only. They must also remain in good academic standing for renewal of any scholarships and awards received.

Latina Leadership Partner Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to traditional, full-time first-year or transfer Lehigh Valley Latino students in partnership with the Latino Leadership Alliance of the Lehigh Valley. Two applicants are chosen each year. Award is based on record of academic excellence and leadership. You must remain in good academic standing for renewal

Scholarship worth: $5,000 per year for up to four years

To be eligible for this scholarship, the student must complete a scholarship application.

The Presidential, Trustee, and Founders Scholarships are awarded to full-time transfer students based on their cumulative transfer GPA from all transfer institutions. They are automatically renewed each year provided the student maintains a 2.5 cumulative GPA and retains a full-time student status.

Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) Merit Scholarship

Presidential LCCC Scholarship:
$18,000 per year, 3.5 -4.0 cumulative GPA

Trustee LCCC Scholarship
$17,000 per year, 3.0 – 3.49 cumulative GPA

Founders LCCC Scholarship
$16,000 per year, 2.0 – 2.99 cumulative GPA

These scholarships are awarded to full-time transfer LCCC graduates accepted to Cedar Crest with an AA or AS degree. The Presidential LCCC, Trustee LCCC, and Founders LCCC Scholarships are automatically renewed each year provided the student maintains a 2.0 cumulative GPA and retains a full-time student status.

Heritage Award

$2,000 per year for up to four years
Must remain in good academic standing for renewal

Awarded to traditional, full-time first-year or transfer students whose sister, brother, parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle is a graduate of a Cedar Crest College undergraduate degree program.

Sibling Award

$2,000 per year for up to four years
Must remain in good academic standing for renewal

Awarded to full-time traditional siblings concurrently enrolled at Cedar Crest during the regular academic year (fall/spring).

Note: for the Heritage and Sibling Awards, students must notify the Admissions Office prior to their acceptance in order to receive these awards.
