Associates for Change (AfC) is a research and consulting firm specialized in development, gender equity, education and social sector analysis. (see www.associatesforchange.org). AfC is inviting applications from qualified persons for positions for Senior Research Analysts.

Senior Research Analysts are responsible for supporting research and consulting projects in the firm through conducting field work, analysis and report writing. Technical skills and competencies include the following:

  • At least a Masters, or PhD in a social science field preferably in sociology, economics, development, education or other related fields with at least 4-5 years of research and/or consulting work experience.
  • Have excellent analysis, research, writing, communication, gender/social inclusion and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to work in teams, help facilitate and manage projects.
  • Have a strong moral commitment to working on education, social and economic development issues. Strong ICT related research skills.

AfC is inviting applications from qualified persons for positions for Senior Research ManagersSenior Researcher Managers are responsible for oversight, and management of large scale research and consulting projects. The qualifications, skills and competencies include the following:

  • Masters or PHD from a recognized University in social science preferably in education, sociology, economics, and/or development studies with at least 5-7 years of research and consulting experience.
  • Have excellent analysis, communication and writing skills; a demonstrated interest in development with a strong commitment to working on social/economic and education development issues in Africa.
  • Both qualitative and quantitative research, gender/social inclusion and evaluation skills are needed; with strong MIS and ICT related research skills (e.g. SPSS, STATA, Nvivo, Atlas.ti etc).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage staff, evaluate programmes, conduct large scale research, facilitate training and lead teams of researchers.
  • Demonstrated strong project management skills, organization development, proposal writing/programme development, and editing skills.
