Ashesi University is a non-profit private university in Ghana, West Africa, and was founded in 2002 by Patrick Awuah of Ghana.

As a Ghanaian entrepreneur and former Microsoft executive, his aim was to provide a high-quality education that prepares students for leadership and service.

Additionally, the institution is dedicated to making education accessible to everyone, regardless of financial situation by providing a significant scholarship scheme.

Furthermore, according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2015, Ashesi University was ranked as the 1 university in Ghana.

Admission Requirements for Ashesi University

Before applying to Ashesi University, it is important to know the admission requirements.

However, the university considers a number of factors before admitting new students, including test results and English language proficiency.

Academic Qualifications:

1.  Ashesi University requires applicants to have completed secondary school or its equivalent.

2. 3.0(GPA)  on a 4.0 scale is required for admission is the minimum grade to be considered.

Standardized Test Scores:

1. Applicants must submit scores from one of the following standardized tests: SAT, ACT, or WASSCE.

Application Process

The application process for Ashesi University is simple and without stress. 

Admission seekers can however submit a paper application and can also apply online through the university’s website.

The steps to apply are as follows:

1. Complete the Application: The application however requires personal and academic information, as well as responses to short essay questions.

2. Submit Supporting Documents: Applicants must submit transcripts, standardized test scores, and English proficiency test scores. Letters of recommendation are optional but recommended.

3. Application Fee:  There is however a stipulated amount to be paid as the application fee which is  $50 for Ghanaians and $100 for students from other countries.

4. Application submission: However, applicants may submit their applications online once they have finished them and sent in the required documentation.

Ashesi University Application Deadlines

Ashesi University however has two application deadlines per year.

The first deadline is in November for early decision applicants, and the second deadline is in April for regular decision applicants.

Hence, Applicants who apply by the early decision deadline will receive an admission decision in December, while applicants who apply by the regular decision deadline will receive a decision in May.
