Saxion Scholarships are meant for highly talented international students. Most times, applying for these scholarships and leaving your country of origin has a lot to do with your previous academic success. So, a better number of the scholarships, just like the Saxion Scholarships are first, in search of students with outstanding and impressive academic track records, before any other criteria. Therefore, if you are qualified, as an international student, it’s time to apply.
Also, these students must be willing to study for their bachelor’s or master’s degree at Saxion University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands, come September.
Saxion University of Applied Sciences
Saxion University of Applied Sciences is among the biggest Universities in the Netherlands. It’s a school that offers both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in over 100 courses in different study fields. Not only that, Saxion University of Applied Sciences is also known for its research projects that are largely focused on living technology. Judging from the school’s motto, “Get Ready for a Smart World”, this school believes that it prepares its student for a world that keeps getting smarter by the day through academics and research.
By the way, Saxion University of Applied Sciences has 3 campuses across the Eastern part of the Netherlands and over 27,000 full-time students. Now, out of that number, over 3,500 make up the international students among them. This obviously is evidence that the Saxion is an international friendly school. It is, however, quite interesting to note that, Saxion has its own housing accommodations in one of the campuses, Enschede. These accommodations are only meant for all first-year international students from the non-European Economic Area.
Saxion Scholarships
Firstly, the Saxion University of Applied Sciences has different types and categories of scholarships. Moreover, these scholarships are meant for talented international students applying for bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in the Netherlands. Also, these students must be ready to travel and begin classes by September.
Saxion Talent Scholarships (STS)
This scholarship is for talented students with above-average study results. Importantly, the scholarships will be given to bachelor’s program students from the non-EEA/EU who pay the full institutional tuition fee.
Number of Scholarships
There are 120 Saxion Talent Scholarships available for grabs by eligible students.

Eligibility
Meanwhile, before you become eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- Be from a non-EEA/EU nationality
- Pay full institutional tuition fee
- Meet the specific requirements of the study program of your choice
- Not receive any other scholarship for the same study year and study program
Requirements
- GPA 70% or higher based on the grade list you use to enroll at Saxion
- IELTS 6.0 or higher (or the equivalent of IELTS)
Selection process
- Here, the Saxion scholarship committee will assess all the complete and eligible applications
- Also, the selection will be according to the ranking of the candidates
- Finally, the results will be announced by email within the space of a month after the scholarship application closing dates

Saxion Excellent Scholarship (SES)
Basically, the Saxion Excellent Scholarship is for Saxion students who have passed the first year of their bachelor’s degree program. These students would equally like to continue studying in the next study year (2nd, 3rd, and 4th year) at Saxion University of Applied Sciences.

The Saxion Excellent Scholarship value is 2,500 euro
Number of Scholarships
This scholarship has a limited number of 150, by the way
Eligible programs
The scholarship is for all the bachelor’s degree programs offered at Saxion University for Applied Sciences
Eligibility
In addition, to be eligible for this scholarship program, you must:
- Be from a non-EEA/EU country
- Pay full tuition fee
- Continue your study programs at Saxion
- Lastly, not receive any other scholarship for the same study program and study year
- Also, you can receive this scholarship up to a maximum of three times
Scholarship requirements
- You must have an average of 7.0 or higher according to your transcript of records in Bison
- Secondly, pass 55 EC or more in one academic year
In light of this, you can not apply for this scholarship if you switch to a different study program. Or if after graduating, you start another bachelor’s degree at Saxion

Orange Tulip Scholarship (OTS)
The Orange Tulip Scholarship (OTS) is also another type of Saxion Scholarships. So, this scholarship is sponsored by the Saxion University of Applied Sciences. Furthermore, this scholarship is for bachelor’s degree candidates and also for candidates for master’s programs.
Similarly, students can apply for the Orange Tulip Scholarship at the Nuffic Neso office in South Africa, Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam, Russia, and India.

Bachelor’s

Scholarship Value
The OTS is worth 5,000 euro
Eligibility
- First of all, you must be from a non-EEA/EU country
- Also, pay full institution tuition fee
- Then, apply for the first time for a full-time program at Saxion
- Meet the specific requirements of the study program of your choice at Saxion
- Finally, you must not receive any other scholarship for the same study program and study year

Submit your Orange Tulip Scholarship application through the NESO website of your country
Scholarship selection process
- Basically, Saxion University offers this scholarship to just one candidate from each country
- The NESO offices send their nomination to Saxion
- Then, the Saxion scholarship committee will assess the nomination and send the final result to NESO offices
- Finally, the NESO offices will issue the result
